Hunt’s Kalaeloa Strategic Implementation Plan (KSIP) is consistent with the Hawai'i Community Development Authority’s (HCDA) Kalaeloa Master Plan and complements area development plans. KSIP was developed in concert with the community and is intended as a guide for the development of Hunt’s Kalaeloa lands over the next 20 years.
Designed to be a neighborhood centered around local schools, small parks and community recreation centers, the pedestrian-friendly Kalaeloa will make it convenient for residents to walk or take a short bike ride to shops and services located along Saratoga Avenue, the community’s “Main Street.” The live, work and play philosophy at Kalaeloa is inspired by the great qualities of other island communities anchored by walkable town centers such as Kailua and Hale'iwa on O'ahu, Pa'ia on Maui and Hawi on the Big Island, where there is a similar sense of community. Focusing on the health and wellness for Kalaeloa residents, the community features connectivity between residences and the public beach, community sports fields and recreation centers.
